#StayHome & Stay on Fleek

A few weeks ago, when social distancing first started and I began working from home, I decided to make the most of this situation. I was going to get into shape, "reset" my hair roots, let my skin breathe without makeup, start a business, paint my entire house, read Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment, and write the next great international best seller. Yes, I was obscenely ambitious. To be fair, I did some of the things on my to do list, but I quickly realized that my job was to survive, not necessarily thrive.
A few weeks into it, I've come to understand that surviving--at least for me, in these particular circumstances--requires a bit of style too. When the founder of BAEBROW first left her job to pursue her dreams, she told me how important it was to shower first thing every morning when you're working from home. I totally get it now. The mornings I don't shower, everything drags and I have no motivation. And sure, it's wonderful to not wear a bra every day, but you know, I do like wearing some make up every day.
The hardest grooming thing for me to get used to is dealing with my eyebrows. I normally get my eyebrows threaded every two to three weeks. I once went three months without getting them threaded, but that was a choice and I was trying to grow them out. No matter how on pointe my make up is, if my eyebrows are messy, I don't feel great. In order to avoid looking like Oscar the Grouch from Sesame Street, I've utilized BAEBROW products more than ever.
First, I am even more religious about using Instant Tint! every week. I used to use Graphite or Black, but now I've started using Dark Brown and Black together. I love the natural boldness. After tinting, I brush my brows with the dual brush and use the BAEBROW razor to clean up the strays and the new chromatic scissors to trim my brows. I still use What the Brow! every night to promote hair growth (a forest for eyebrows is better than a desert!). And since I've been furrowing my brow so much, I've developed a frown line on my forehead -- so I've started using Hi Roller! on my forehead.
This has all really helped me feel more in control. It's the small things. None of us can control what is happening out there, and we're all doing our best to survive and take care of others. But don't forget to take a moment to take care of yourself and do something that makes you feel good. For me, it's my eyebrows.
And when all of this is over, the very first thing I'm going to do is get my eyebrows threaded! What's the first thing you'll do?
